4. We have been studying together the life of Moses.

5. From the early years as children, we are taught that winning is very important, if not everything.
我们从小就学习要争强好胜，即使这不是唯一重要的，也是非常重要的事。

6. In every arena in life, we distinguish between winners and losers.
在人生的每一个层面，我们都在分辨，谁是胜利者，谁是失败者。

7. In the spiritual warfare, there are also winners and losers, but the game plan is different.
在属灵的争战里，也有得胜者和失败者的区别，但制胜的方法却有所不同。

8. In winning the spiritual battle,
要赢得属灵的战役，

9. it is not what you do that matters.
关键不在于你做了什么，

10. It is the extent of your obedience that makes the difference.
关键是，到底你有多顺服。

11. You cannot win the spiritual battle with partial obedience.
只有部分顺服的心，不足以赢得属灵的争战；

12. You cannot win the spiritual war with delayed obedience.
迟来的顺服，也不足以赢得属灵的争战；

13. You can only win with total and unconditional obedience.
唯有不带条件，全然的顺服，才足以致胜。

14. Turn with me to Exodus 17, verses 8 to 16.
请翻开出埃及记17章8-16节。

15. Here, you find the people of God confronting an enemy that threatens to destroy them.
在这里我们看见，神的百姓遭遇强敌，威胁要摧毁他们。

16. To show you the seriousness of this situation, we need to turn first to Deuteronomy 25:17.
我们要看申命记25章17节才能明白，当时的情势多么严峻。

17. In his farewell address, Moses said,
这是摩西在临别时所说的话，他说：

18. “Remember what the Amalekites did to you on the way as you came out of Egypt,
你要记念你们出埃及的时候，亚玛力人在路上怎样待你。

19. how they attacked you on the way when you were in faint and weary
18节说，他们在路上遇见你，趁你疲乏困倦，

20. and cut off at the rear all who lagged behind you, and they did not fear God.”
击杀你尽后边软弱的人，并不敬畏神。

21. If Pharaoh and his army represented Satan,
如果说，法老和他的军队所代表的是撒但；

22. the Amalekites represent the flesh.
那么，亚玛力人就是代表我们肉体的情欲。

23. Galatians 5:17 tells us
加拉太书5章17节告诉我们，

24. that there are two natures that are constantly at war within us,
在我们里面，有两种性情经常彼此为敌。

25. and, in Romans 7, Paul becomes overwhelmed with this battle
罗马书第7章保罗说，在他里面的斗争，大大地冲击他。

26. and he comes to the conclusion that he cannot win the battle alone;
他发觉，不可能靠自己赢得争战。

27. then, he continues on to say that victory is not what we do, but on Whom we depend.
他接着说，得胜不在于我们努力做些什么，而是在于我们倚靠谁。

28. Victory is not dependent on our achievements or reputation, but on total surrender.
得胜不在于我们的成就或名望，而在于完全的顺服。

29. Victory is not dependent on our abilities, but our availabilities to God.
得胜不在于我们的才干有多少，而在于我们是否随时待命。

30. The flesh, or the old nature, does not die when you come to Christ,
肉体的情欲或老我的天性，并不会随着我们归信基督而消失，

31. but you and I are given the power to muzzle the old nature.
但我们却得着能力来控制老我。

32. The old nature, or the flesh, does not go away when you become born again,
当你重生得救之后，你的老我和肉体的情欲不会消失，

33. but we are given the means by which we can keep the old nature in chains.
但我们却获得了捆锁老我的方法。

34. If Satan is the outside spiritual enemy,
撒但是外在的属灵敌人，

35. then the flesh is the inside operative enemy.
肉体的情欲就是内在活跃的敌人。

36. Our two natures are conflicting inside of us.
在我们里面有两种性情互相斗争，

37. Our old nature wants us to please self,
老我的性情要求自我满足，

38. but our new nature wants to please the Lord.
新的属灵生命要讨神的喜悦；

39. Our old nature has loyalty to self,
老我只效忠于自己，

40. but our new nature has loyalty to the Lord Jesus Christ.
新我却效忠于耶稣基督；

41. Our old nature is ultimately self-destructive,
老我奔向自我毁灭，

42. but our new nature seeks the salvation of the Lord.
新我寻求神的拯救。

43. So, the Amalekites heard of the great things that the Lord had done to His children.
亚玛力人听说神为祂的子民行了伟大的奇事，

44. Their spirit of envy wanted to destroy what God had chosen
他们出于嫉妒，就想要消灭神的选民。

45. and Moses knew exactly what to do in times of spiritual warfare with the flesh,
在跟肉体相争的属灵争战里，摩西清楚知道他该做什么，

46. and he did two things.
他做了两件事。

47. He went up to a high place to seek the only Power he knew could help him
他上了高山，在那里寻求他所知道唯一的帮助和能力所在，

48. and, then, he chose Joshua, his best of fighters, to go down to the battlefield.
然后他拣选了最优秀的战士约书亚到战场上去。

49. Nehemiah did something very similar to this.
尼希米也是这么做的，

50. He told the people of God, when they were rebuilding the wall,
当他们要重建城墙时，他告诉神的百姓，

51. to build with one hand and to hold a sword in the other.
要一手做工，一手拿兵器。

52. We are to do the same thing.
我们也该这么做，

53. We are to go down on our knees,
要先跪下祷告，

54. then go up for the battle.
再上战场；

55. To spend time with God,
要花时间亲近神，

56. and then stand firm for our conviction.
也要为信仰站稳立场。

57. There are those who do nothing and figure that God will take care of things anyway.
有些人认为，反正神会办妥一切，所以我们什么都不用作；

58. On the other hand, we have those who think that God cannot do anything unless they do it;
但另一方面，也有人认为，除非我们做了些什么，不然神就无法成事。

59. but the answer is doing both.
答案是，双方面都要兼顾。

60. To pray in faith, believing that the only answer is in the Lord,
凭着信心祷告，相信唯有神能解决；

61. and then go out and stand firm for the truth.
然后勇敢地面对挑战，坚定真理的立场。

62. Let me tell you three truths about winning.
让我告诉你得胜的三个真理：

63. One,
第一，

64. there can be no winning without kneeling.
不跪下祷告就不能得胜。

65. Second,
第二，

66. there can be no winning without standing.
不站稳就不能得胜。

67. Third,
第三，

68. there can be no winning without God’s banner.
不在神的旗帜之下就不能得胜。

69. Let’s learn from what Moses did.
让我们从摩西身上来学习，

70. He lifted up the staff of the Lord.
他举起神的杖，

71. This is a form of submission to God.
这是顺从神的表示；

72. This is a posture of dependence on God.
这是倚靠神的姿势；

73. This is a place of kneeling before God.
这是在神面前屈膝的所在；

74. This is a position of acknowledging that victory will only come from surrender to God.
这是承认，胜利惟独来自对神的降服。

75. I don’t mean just the posture of kneeling.
我并不是说，仅仅跪下这个姿势就够了，

76. What I mean by that is total surrender and dedication of time, energy, money and all that you are;
我的意思是，要全然的降服，奉献出你的时间、精力、金钱和一切所有的。

77. and, here, with Moses, the Lord seemed to be saying,
这时候神似乎在对摩西说，

78. “Moses, you be sure to keep your hands up in the air and I will make sure my people win.”
摩西，只要你保持向上举手，我的百姓必然得胜。

79. There can be no winning without kneeling.
不跪下祷告，就不会得胜。

80. Secondly, there can be no winning without standing together.
第二，不同心站稳了，就不能得胜。

81. The Bible said
圣经说，

82. that God hears our individual prayers.
神垂听每一个人的祷告。

83. We cannot minimize the importance of this.
我们决不能说这不重要，

84. If we are going to win over the flesh, we have to commit to praying together.
但如果我们要胜过肉体，我们必须愿意一起祷告。

85. When people prayed in one accord, God acted.
当人同心祷告时，神就会采取行动。

86. Jesus said that when two or three are gathered together in His name, He is there in their midst.
耶稣说，无论在哪里，有两三个人奉我的名聚会，那里就有我在他们中间。

87. Let’s look at what happened here.
让我们来看看发生了什么事。

88. When Joshua went down to lead the battle,
当约书亚带领人上战场时，

89. the whole future of the Hebrews’ leadership went with him.
他带着所有希伯来人未来的领袖。

90. There was no giving God the leftovers.
不能把剩余的献给神；

91. There was no giving God your second best.
不能把次等的献给神；

92. There was no giving God the weak and the inferior.
不能把软弱的、劣质的献给神；

93. They gave their best and their whole future for the battle
他们把精英和他们的未来全部送上战场。

94. While Moses himself was commanded to stand in prayer lifting up his hands in intercession;
摩西受命举起双手，站着祷告，为百姓代求，

95. but he could not keep up his intercessory prayer and his surrender posture all by himself.
但他单单靠自己，没有办法维持代求的祷告，以及他那表示顺服的姿势，

96. He needed Aaron, his brother, and Hur to stand with him.
他需要哥哥亚伦和户珥站在他身边。

97. Tradition says that Hur was Miriam’s husband.
传统的说法指出，户珥是米利暗的丈夫，

98. In other words, he was Moses’ brother-in-law.
也就是摩西的姊夫，

99. The two of them were needed to uphold Moses’ arm.
摩西需要他们合力扶着他的手。

100. As long as Moses was alone, his arms got tired;
当摩西独自一人时，他的手臂会疲倦；

101. and, every time his arms came down, the Amalekites had the upper hand.
每当他的手发沉下垂，亚玛力人就得胜；

102. Every time he lifted up his arms, God’s people had the upper hand in the battle.
每当他举起双手，神的百姓就得胜。

103. Let me tell you again.
让我再一次告诉你，

104. You cannot stand against the world, the flesh and the devil alone.
你不能单枪匹马地对抗世界、肉体和魔鬼，

105. You cannot do it.
你做不到的。

106. We need to uphold one another.
我们需要彼此扶持；

107. We need to be praying for one another.
我们需要互相代祷；

108. We need to be supporting one another.
我们需要支持对方。

109. To win, we have to have the prayers of Moses and the support of Aaron and Hur,
要胜利，必须有摩西的祷告，加上亚伦和户珥的支持，

110. but we also need the courage of Joshua.
我们还需要约书亚的勇敢，

111. Every one of you is important for God’s Kingdom.
在神的国里，每一个人都是重要的。

112. The Scripture says pray always.
圣经说，要不住的祷告，

113. There can be no winning without kneeling.
不跪下祷告，就不能得胜；

114. There can be no winning without standing together;
不同心站稳，就不能得胜。

115. and, lastly, there can be no winning without God’s banner.
最后，不在神的旗帜之下，就不能得胜。

116. In verse 15 of Exodus 17,
出埃及记17章15节那里说，

117. after victory, Moses built an altar and called it “Yahweh Nissi,”
他们战胜之后，摩西筑了一座坛，起名叫耶和华尼西。

118. “The Lord is my banner” or “The Lord is my flag”
意思是，耶和华是我旌旗，或者耶和华是我的旗帜。

119. and, here, Moses wanted to fly the banner
摩西就是要让这旗帜飘扬，

120. that says “Jehovah is my banner”.
表示，耶和华是我的旌旗。

121. In other words, he wanted to declare to the world that “Yahweh is the One Who gave me victory;
换句话说，他要向全世界宣布，是耶和华使我们得胜的；

122. that Yahweh, Who is my God,
耶和华是我的神；

123. that I belong to Him and no other.”
我单单属于祂。

124. Let me conclude by telling you this true story.
结束前让我讲个真实的故事给你听。

125. At 7 p.m. on October 20th, 1968,
1968年10月20号晚上7点钟，

126. a few thousand spectators remained in Mexico City Olympic Stadium.
在墨西哥市的奥林匹克运动场里，有几千个观众等在那里，

127. It was almost dark.
天快黑了，

128. The last of the marathon runners were stumbling across the finish line.
最后几位马拉松的参赛选手，吃力地跑过了终点。

129. Finally, the spectators heard the wail of a siren on the police cars.
终于，观众听到了警车的警笛声远远传来，

130. As eyes turned to the gates,
众人的眼光都集中在运动场的入口。

131. a lone runner wearing the color of Tanzania was struggling into the stadium.
一个孤独的跑者，穿着坦桑尼亚代表队的运动衣，挣扎着跑进运动场。

132. His name was John Steven Akhwari.
他的名字叫做约翰史迪文阿卡瓦利，

133. He was the last contestant to finish the twenty-six mile contest.
他是这项26英哩长跑赛事中，最后抵达终点的选手。

134. His leg had been injured in a fall and was bloodied and crudely bandaged.
他的腿因摔倒而受伤，用布随意地包扎着，仍然血迹斑斑。

135. He hobbled the final lap around the track.
他一拐一拐地跑着最后一圈跑道，

136. The spectators rose and applauded him as though he were the winner.
全体观众都起立欢呼，为他鼓掌，似乎他才是冠军。

137. After he had crossed the finish line,
当他跨过终点线时，

138. someone asked him why he had not quit.
有人问他，为什么没有中途而废？

139. He simply replied,
他简短的回答说，

140. “My country did not send me seven thousand miles to start the race.
我的国家从老远的7000哩外把我送来，并不是叫我开始跑而已；

141. They sent me seven thousand miles to finish the race.”
他们从7000哩外把我送来，是要我跑完全程。

142. My listening friend, listen carefully as I conclude.
亲爱的朋友，在结束前请仔细听我说。

143. When you stand under the banner of Jehovah Nissi,
当你站在耶和华尼西的旗帜下，

144. you can be sure that your Lord did not call you to start the battle.
你可以确定，神并不是呼召你开始作战，

145. He called you to finish it;
祂呼召你打完这场仗。

146. and, when you finish,
当你完成了，

147. you will not get a medal, but you will get a crown.
你不是得到一个勋章，而是得到冠冕。

148. It is my prayer that we all keep our eye on the crown.
我祈求神，让我们都定睛在这冠冕上。
