3. This is the second to last in the series of messages on the life of Moses

4. and I want to begin by telling you a statistic from the world of management.

5. I am told that the average institution is made up of people in the following categories:

6. about ten percent are visionaries.

7. They are the people who are action-oriented.

8. They say, “Just point the way to me and I am ready to go.”

9. They see the big picture.

10. They are the people who are not afraid to move out of their comfort zones.

11. Next, there is the eighty percent of people who are neutral.

12. They say, “I am willing to move, but only if you can prove to me that this move is good.

13. I am ready to embrace the vision, but I have to see some evidence.”

14. They say, “I am ready to follow if I can be sure that I am led in the right direction…”

15. then, there’s the bottom ten-percent.

16. These folks are not going to move forward no matter what.

17. They are not going to go anywhere.

18. These are the people who disagree just for the sake of disagreeing.

19. These are the ones who, if you say, “up”, they say, “down”.

20. If you say, “left”, they will say, “right”.

22. No matter what you say, they are going to be in the opposite side.

23. If these statistics are right, I thank God there are only ten percent of them.

24. Let me give you an example of people who were pessimistic about the future.

25. In 1825, someone said,

26. “What can be more absurd than the prospect of locomotives travelling twice as fast as the stagecoach?”

27. And so, my friend, ponder this:

28. it was fourteen months from the time the people of God left Egypt
当神的百姓离开埃及十四个月后，

29. until they arrived at the borders of the Promised Land.

30. The Lord had taken them on a long route in an attempt to train them in obedience of faith.
神特意带他们绕道而行，为了要训练他们，让他们学习凭信心顺服祂。

31. During that time, the Lord gave them the law and taught them to worship and sacrifice.
在那段期间，神颁布诫命，并教导他们关于敬拜和献祭的事。

32. God said to Moses in the Book of Numbers, Chapter 13,
在民数记13章那里，神对摩西说，

33. “Get some men to go into the land which I am giving you.”
你打发人去，窥探我所赐给以色列人的迦南地。

34. My listening friend, I don’t want you to miss this point.
亲爱的朋友，请不要忽略这点，

35. If you miss this point, you miss the whole message.

36. God said for them to go to the “land which I am giving you”.
神对他们说，去，到我所赐给你们的那地。

37. Not the “land I am hoping to give you”,
祂没有说，我希望能赐给你们的那地；

38. not the “land that I am thinking about giving you”,
也没有说，我考虑要给你们的那地；

39. not the “land that I will possibly give you”.
也不是说，我可能会给你们的那地；

40. No. He said the “land that I am giving you…”
都不是！祂说的是，我所赐给你的那地。

41. so, Moses selects one representative from each tribe,
于是摩西在每个支派里选了一个代表，

42. and the twelve go to Canaan.
这十二个人就去迦南地探查。

43. After forty days of looking around the land,
他们在那里观察了四十天，

44. they came back and reported incredible prosperity and fertile land.
他们回来报告说，那地方是多么的肥沃富庶，

45. They brought back a bunch of grapes so large that it took two men to carry it on a pole between them,

46. but that’s not the end of the story.

47. Ten of the twelve men brought their own human analysis of the situation instead of God’s vision.

48. Ten of the twelve brought their own worldly wisdom instead of godly wisdom,
十二个人中有十个人，运用属世界的聪明，而没有依靠神的智慧；

49. and only two of the twelve took God at His word and were ready to move.
十二个人中只有两个人，相信神的话，并整装待发；

50. Only two of the twelve believed the promises of God.
十二个人中只有两个人，相信神的应许。

51. There are four things, my listening friend, that I want to talk to you about in this passage.
亲爱的朋友，在这段经文里，我要跟你分享四个重点：

52. First,
第一，

53. the majority is always wrong when God is not at the center.
当我们不以神为中心时，多数人的意见是错误的。

54. Second,
第二，

55. obedience, and not opinion, will bring you blessings.
顺服神才能使你蒙福，而不是你的意见。

56. Thirdly,
第三，

57. the giants become grasshoppers in the eyes of faith.
从信心的眼光来看，巨人会变为蚱蜢。

58. Fourthly,
第四，

59. the obedience of faith has its own rewards.
凭信心顺服神，必得赏赐。

60. Let’s look at the first one.
让我们来看第一点，

61. The majority is always wrong when God is not at the center.
当我们不以神为中心时，多数人的意见是错误的。

62. When the ten out of the twelve came back,
那十二个人中的十个回来时，

63. they said, “The people who live in Canaan are giants.
他们说，迦南地的居民，都像巨人那么高大，

64. They would wipe us out with their breath.”
他们吹口气，就可以消灭我们。

65. They looked at the circumstances and saw the impossibility.
他们看环境，看那些不可能克服的困难，

66. No sooner had they finished giving their negative report than the rest began to wail,
他们才报完恶信，百姓就开始哭号说：

67. “Oh, no, we’re going to die. We’re going to die.”
完了！完了！我们都要死了！

68. My listening friend, listen carefully.
亲爱的朋友，请仔细听我说：

69. When you are at the center of the will of God,
当你走在神的旨意中，

70. the majority is always wrong.
多数人的意见常是错误的；

71. When I am at the center of the will of God,
每当我走在神的旨意中，

72. God always keeps His promises to me,
神总是信守祂的诺言，

73. even if no one else believes them.
即使没有人相信这些应许。

74. Let’s look at the second point.
现在让我们看第二点，

75. Obedience, not opinions, will bring you blessings.
顺服神才能使你蒙福，而不是你的意见。

76. God promised Abraham the land four hundred years before Moses.
神早在摩西之前四百年，就应许把这地赐给亚伯拉罕。

77. God reaffirmed that promise to Moses.
神对摩西重新肯定这应许，

78. God confirmed and re-confirmed His promise through supernatural interventions.
神也多次借着祂超自然的作为，再三地肯定祂的应许。

79. God gave them the Holy Spirit in the form of a cloud to lead them.
神赐圣灵，以云柱的形式来引领他们；

80. God gave them food to sustain them.
神赐食物给他们维生；

81. God supernaturally kept the clothes that they were wearing from being worn out.
神也很奇妙地保守他们，使他们的衣服穿不烂。

82. Finally, God said, “It’s time to go...”
最后神说，时候到了，去吧！

83. but the moment they faced the first obstacle, they said, “Where is God?”
但他们才面对第一个障碍就说，神到哪里去了？

84. My listening friend,
我亲爱的朋友，

85. in your walk with the Lord, you will face obstacles.
当你与神同行时，你会遇到拦阻，

86. You will face impossibilities.
你会遭遇不能解决的难题，

87. You will face doubt.
你会面对疑惑，

88. You will face fear.
你会面对恐惧，

89. You will face opinions of all sorts.
你会面对各种不同的意见，

90. You will face temptation to stay in your comfort zone,
你会面对，让你不愿意离开安逸现况的引诱。

91. but none of that should tempt you to disobey the Lord.
但这一切都不应该叫你背叛神，

92. None of that should tempt you to give up in following the command of God.
这一切都不应该叫你放弃遵从神的命令，

93. Instead,
相反的，

94. you must dare to believe God and His Word.
你必须勇敢地信靠神和祂的话。

95. Dare to obey Him unconditionally.
勇于毫无条件地顺服祂，

96. Dare to face your obstacles head on.
勇敢地迎向那些拦阻，

97. Dare to say to the giants in your life, “With God’s power, you are nothing but grasshoppers.”
勇敢地对你生命中那些巨人说，我有神的大能与我同在，所以你只不过是一只小蚱蜢罢了。

98. The majority is always wrong when God is not at the center.
当人不以神为中心时，多数人的意见都是错误的。

99. Obedience, not opinions, will bring you blessings.
是你对神的顺服，而不是你自己的意见使你蒙福。

100. Thirdly,
第三，

101. giants become grasshoppers through the eyes of faith.
从信心的眼光来看，巨人会变为蚱蜢。

102. The ten people saw giants and themselves, as grasshoppers,
那十个探子把敌人看为巨人，自己是蚱蜢。

103. but Joshua and Caleb saw the opposite.
但约书亚和迦勒所看的刚刚相反，

104. They saw themselves, with God, to be giants and the enemy is a grasshopper.
因为有神的同在，他们看自己是巨人，仇敌却是蚱蜢。

105. If you look at the Book of Numbers, Chapter 13, verse 30,
你去看民数记13章30节那里说，

106. you will see that Caleb silenced the people for Moses and said, “Let’s get up at once and take the land. We are well able to conquer it.”
迦勒在摩西面前安抚百姓说，我们立刻上去得那地吧，我们足能得胜。

107. I love Caleb.
我真是爱迦勒这个人，

108. First, he told them to be quiet;
首先他叫百姓安静下来，

109. then, he said, “Let’s go.”
然后他说，我们去吧！

110. To stand before a panicking mob and to challenge their unbelief --
站在缺乏信心，又惊恐不安的人群面前，向他们提出挑战，

111. that took unflinching faith in God’s word.
需要有对神的话语毫不动摇的信心。

112. If you have not already discovered what I am going to tell you, you will.
如果你没有经历过我所要告诉你的事，你将会发现，我说的都是事实。

113. People who are doubters and naysayers and negative and critical - they hate people of faith.
那些消极负面，好猜疑，好批评的人，最恨有信心的人了。

114. Those who enjoy focusing on their circumstances and delight in feeling sorry for themselves -
那些一味看环境，整天自怜的人，

115. they do not like someone who brings them a word from the Lord.
他们不喜欢听别人把神的话告诉他们。

116. In the Book of Numbers, Chapter 14, verse 9,
民数记14章第9节那里，

117. Joshua and Caleb were pleading with the people,
约书亚和迦勒请求百姓说，

118. “Do not rebel against God. Do not be afraid. The Lord is with us...”
不可背叛耶和华，有耶和华与我们同在，不要怕他们。

119. and how did the people receive this word of faith?
但群众听得进这些信心的话吗？

120. Verse 10 says,
第10节说，

121. “The whole assembly talked about stoning them…”
但全会众说，拿石头打死他们。

122. but the Lord intervened.
这时耶和华出面拦阻，

123. If it were not for the Lord’s intervention,
要不是神及时显现，

124. Joshua, Caleb, Moses and Aaron would have been under a pile of rocks.
约书亚、迦勒、摩西和亚伦，都会葬身乱石堆下。

125. My listening friends, please listen carefully.
亲爱的朋友，请留心听。

126. God will never let you down when you take a stand for Him.
当你愿意为神挺身而出时，神决不会亏待你的。

127. Even if you have to seal your testimony with your own blood,
当你为见证神的道，甚至到流血牺牲的地步，

128. you will only discover that the glories of Heaven are awaiting you.
你必定会得到为你存留在天上的荣耀。

129. Let me ask you this:
请问你，

130. what is the giant that keeps you in fear?
在你人生中，什么是令你胆怯的巨人？

131. Who is the giant that is keeping you from the life of faith?
什么是拦阻你过信心生活的巨人？

132. What giant in your life frightens you and keeps you worried and anxious?
什么是令你害怕，使你担忧、焦虑的巨人？

133. God can give you victory over your giants.
神会让你胜过这些巨人的。

134. Let me summarize again.
让我们温习一下这几个重点：

135. The majority is always wrong when God is not at the center.
当我们不以神为中心时，多数人的意见是错误的。

136. Obedience, not opinions, will bring you blessings.
是你对神的顺服，而不是你自己的意见，使你蒙福。

137. The giants become grasshoppers through the eyes of faith.
从信心的眼光来看，巨人会变为蚱蜢。

138. Finally,
最后，

139. obedience of faith has its own rewards.
凭信心顺服神，必得赏赐。

140. In the Book of Joshua, Chapter 14,
在约书亚记14章那里，

141. we can read all about how Caleb and Joshua, forty years later, went and took over the land.
我们看见四十年之后，迦勒和约书亚进入迦南，并得到那地为业。

142. They turned the land of so-called giants into grasshoppers.
他们把那些称为巨人的，都变成了蚱蜢。

143. As far as Caleb was concerned, the bigger God’s enemies are, the harder they fall.
对迦勒来说，与神为敌的越强大，他们的失败也越大。

144. Caleb knew that, when the Lord is with you, He will defend you.
迦勒知道，当神与你同在时，祂会保卫你。

145. Caleb knew that, when the Lord is with you, He will protect you.
迦勒知道，当神与你同在时，祂会守护你。

146. Caleb knew that, when the Lord is with you, He will make the giants to be dwarves.
迦勒知道，当神与你同在时，祂使巨人变为侏儒。

147. My listening friend, I want to tell you that the crisis we have today is a crisis of faith.
我亲爱的朋友，让我告诉你，今天我们所面对的危机，是信心的危机。

148. What we need today are men and women of Caleb’s faith.
这个世代所需要的，就是像迦勒那样有信心的男女。

149. Caleb was receiving his strength from the Lord
迦勒从神那里获取力量，

150. and, so, while those unbelieving people were wasting away in worry and anxiety and fear, Caleb was being renewed by faith.
当那些不相信的人，在担忧、焦虑和恐惧中虚度光阴时，迦勒却不断在信心中更新。

151. While the negative people were wasting away, Caleb was getting younger and stronger and looking forward by faith to getting into the land of promise.
当那些消极负面的人浪费生命时，迦勒却带着年轻的活力，凭信心盼望进入应许之地。

152. As I conclude, I want to ask you a series of questions.
结束前让我问你几个问题。

153. Do you wake up in the morning worrying about what you are going to do about your future?
你是否每天早晨一起床，就开始为将来担忧？

154. Do you worry about your health, your family, your problems?
你是否为自己的健康、家庭和你所有的麻烦担心？

155. Do you go to bed at night thinking about those giants in your life?
你每晚临睡前，是否老是想着你生命中的那些巨人？

156. Let me tell you this:
让我告诉你，

157. as long as you keep allowing these giants to be your focus,
如果你一直盯着这些巨人，

158. you will not experience the rest that comes from trusting in the promises of God.
那么，你就无法经历到那些，因信靠神的应许而有的平安和宁静。

159. As long as you nurse your giants, God’s blessings cannot follow you.
只要你容许这些巨人不断长大，神就无法赐福给你。

160. There is nothing more devastating to a child than to discover that adults do not always keep their promises.
对孩子来说，最大的打击就是，他们发现成年人常常不守诺言。

161. Parents say, “I promise...”
父母说，好，我答应你。

162. then, they don’t keep their promises.
但他们根本不守诺言，

163. The children grow up distrusting adults.
这些孩子在不信任中成长。

164. Not so with God.
神不是这样的，

165. He always keeps His promises.
祂永远信守祂的应许。

166. The question is,
但问题是，

167. can I keep on believing His promises?
我是否能坚信祂的应许呢？

168. Can I trust Him enough to act on His promises?
我是否因相信祂，就按照祂的应许而行呢？

169. Your answer will determine your reward of faith.
你的回答，决定你将得到的信心赏赐。
