3. In the midst of the celebration of the Christmas season, we have been talking about the real meaning of Christmas
当大家欢庆圣诞时,我们要跟大家谈谈圣诞节的真正意义,
4. and we will continue to do so today
今天我们会继续这个话题,
5. let me begin by telling you a story
我想先跟大家说一个故事,
6. A friend of mine told a story of when he was in college.
我的朋友告诉我他念大学时的一个故事。
7. He and his roommate planned a surprise birthday party for John.
他跟他的室友要为约翰筹备一个令他惊喜的生日庆祝会。
8. John was their close friend.
约翰是他俩的好朋友。
9. And, after all the arrangements were made,...
当一切都安排妥当,
10. the invitations were issued...
并发出了请帖,
11. and a special gift was purchased.
又精心挑选了一份礼物。
12. My friend and his roommate looked forward to this special celebration.
我那位朋友跟他的室友很热切的期待庆祝会的来临。
13. 30 enthusiastic guests came that night to celebrate John’s birthday.
当天晚上,三十位热情的宾客来到约翰的生日庆祝会。
14. About 30 minutes into the party, the two friends suddenly remembered… They had forgotten to do one important thing
等了半个钟头,他们突然想起来,忘了最重要的事,
15. they had forgotten to invite the honored guest!
他们忘记邀请生日会的主客!
16. They left the party and went out looking for John.
他们离开庆祝会去找约翰。
17. But John was nowhere to be found!
但是怎么也找不着!
18. Finally, they returned to the party and suggested that the celebration be canceled.
最后他们只好回去,提议取消庆祝会。
19. But the others insisted on having the party anyway,... without the honored guest.
但是其他人坚持继续庆祝,就算主客不在场也没关系。
20. Refreshments were served and a cake with 21 candles was lit.
于是大家享用点心,又点燃蛋糕上的二十一支蜡烛。
21. And they all sang happy birthday to John... who wasn’t there.
还为约翰唱生日歌,但他并不在场。
22. It all seemed like one big joke.
看起来就是一个大笑话。
23. The master of ceremonies was holding a gift,...
司仪拿着一份礼物,
24. that purchased from the meager resources of college students who pooled their money together to purchase that gift!
那份礼物还是这些大学生仅有的一点钱集资购买的!
25. He began to make his speech which drew hearty laughter from the crowd.
他开始致词,却引起哄堂大笑。
26. All of a sudden he realized that there was no one to accept the gift.
剎那间他想起不会有人来接受这份礼物。
27. And finally he concluded that the joke had gone too far.
最后他觉得玩笑开的太过分了。
28. So as the 30 guests left the dining hall,...
于是三十个客人离开了餐厅,
29. the two roommates were left behind bewildered and with a big lump in each of their throats.
两个室友留下来,很惆怅的呆坐着。
30. On the next day when they told this story to John... (their absent guest of honor).
第二天当他们把经过情形告诉约翰这位生日会的主客,
31. He, too, thought that it was a joke.
他也认为是个大笑话。
32. When I heard this story, I couldn’t help but reflect on Christmas!
当我听到这个故事,我不期然想到圣诞节!
33. Christmas is Christ’s birthday.
圣诞节是耶稣基督的生日。
34. He is the honored guest.
他就是那位主客。
35. But in many a celebration during this Christmas season, the honored guest will be missing.
但是在很多圣诞庆祝会里,主客往往不在场。
36. In many a party and in family gatherings... the honored guest will be missing.
在很多庆祝会及家庭团聚里,主客往往也不在场。
37. In many homes that celebrate the season,... the honored guest will be missing.
就是在很多庆祝圣诞节的家庭里,往往主客并不在其中。
38. The honored guest has been left out in the cold.
那位主客常被冷落在一旁。
39. The honored guest is unwelcome... and uninvited in many Christmas festivities.
在很多圣诞节聚会里,那位主客既不受欢迎,也没有被邀请。
40. But, from the very beginning Christ had no room in the inn.
同样的,当初在客店里就没有房间给耶稣基督。
41. The Bible said:
圣经说:
42. When it was time for Mary to deliver her virgin born son...
当童贞女马利亚要生她的儿子时,
43. there was no room for Him except in a stable.
除了马槽之外,并没有房间可以容身。
44. But this was by design.
但这是按照神的计划发生的。
45. God ordered it that when He comes in human body... He will come in humility.
神命定祂道成肉身来到世界,是存着谦卑而来。
46. It was prophesied by all the prophets 700 years before his birth.
早在祂还没有出生的七百年前,所有先知都这样预言了。
47. It was foretold by all the seers.
所有先知都是这样宣告的。
48. It was predicted by all of God’s mouth pieces.
神所有的代言人也作了同样的预测。
49. That the King of Kings will not be born in a palace.
万王之王不会诞生在皇宫里。
50. now let me tell you why, Jesus, King of kings, was not born in a palace
让我告诉你,为什么耶稣这位万王之王不是生在皇宫里。
51. If he was born in a palace:
如果祂在皇宫出生:
52. The fence and the walls would have made him inaccessible.
篱笆和围墙就会拦阻人们接近祂。
53. The body guards would have made him unapproachable.
随身侍卫不会让人靠近祂。
54. The pomp and ceremony would have made him unreachable.
宫廷里的繁文缛节将使祂高不可攀。
55. The throne would have made him remote.
王位使祂变得遥不可及。
56. When God left the glories of heaven... and became a man...
当神离开天上的荣华而成为人,
57. He wanted to identify with the poorest... the weakest... and lowliest among us.
祂要跟我们中间最贫穷的、最软弱的和最卑微的看齐。
58. That is why He is the only figure in the entire history of the world that could say:
这就是为什么在整个人类历史上,只有祂才可以说:
59. “Come to me all of you who are broken hearten.”
“你们若有心灵破碎的,可以到我这里来。”
60. “Come to me all of you... who have broken lives.”
“你们若有伤痛人生的,可以到我这里来。”
61. “Come to me all of you... who have broken dreams.”
“你们若有梦想幻灭的,可以到我这里来。”
62. “Come to me all of you... who have dashed hopes.”
“你们若有希望落空的,可以到我这里来。”
63. Only the one who made the universe... can issue such a incredible invitation.
只有创造宇宙的那一位,才能发出这样非比寻常的邀请。
64. His invitation is very simple.
祂的邀请其实很简单。
65. To come to Him.
到祂那里。
66. You don’t have to belong to a certain class. To come to Him.
你不需要进入某种阶级才能到祂那里。
67. You don’t have to speak a special language. To come to Him.
你不需要讲某种特殊的语言才能到祂那里。
68. You don’t have to adopt special etiquette. To come to Him.
你不需要遵行特殊的礼仪才能到祂那里。
69. You don’t have to belong to a church or a denomination to come to Him.
你不需要加入教会或宗派才能到祂那里。
70. All you need to do to be forgiven and healed... is to come as you are.
如果你要罪得赦免并得着医治,就以真面目去祂那里便可以了。
71. Jesus was born in a stable because there was no room in the inn.
因为客店没有房间,以至于耶稣在马槽出生。
72. Now, 2000 years later... we have come full circle.
两千年后的今天,我们绕了个大圈子回到原地。
73. Today... Jesus has no room in many a place.
今天,在很多地方耶稣也没有容身之处。
74. The one who is the source of all enlightenment... has no room.
祂是所有文明的源头,却没有容身之处。
75. The one who is the source of all knowledge... has no room.
祂是所有知识的源头,却没有容身之处。
76. The one who governs the universe... has no room.
祂掌管着宇宙,却没有容身之处。
77. The one who is the most perfect judge of the whole universe has no room.
祂是整个宇宙中最完美的审判官,却没有容身之处。
78. He has all the answers... and human institutions don’t want answers.
祂拥有所有问题的解答,而人类社会却不要这些答案。
79. We want to find answers in technology.
我们在科技上寻找答案。
80. We want to find answers in science.
我们在科学上寻找答案。
81. We want to find answers in psychology.
我们在心理学上寻找答案。
82. We want to find answers everywhere except where the real answer can be found.
我们在各地各方寻找答案,却不去真正可以得到答案的地方寻找。
83. In the West, all of the answers have proven to have failed.
在西方社会里已经证实了,所有找到的答案都是失效的。
84. Yet Jesus stands today... as He did for 2000 years saying:
然而耶稣基督直到今天没有改变,正如祂两千年前所说的:
85. “Come to me. I have the answers to your personal confusion.”
“到我这里来,我可以解答你个人的疑惑。”
86. “I have the answers to your cultural disintegration.”
“我可以化解你文化解体的危机。”
87. “I have the answers to your emotional muddle.”
“我可以解开你情绪上的混乱。”
88. “I have the answers to your guilt and pain.”
“我可以解除你的罪和痛苦。”
89. My listening friends, I want to talk to you those of you who call themselves Christians.
亲爱的朋友,我想跟你们当中自称为基督徒的说。
90. You may be celebrating Christmas with the guest of honor missing in your life.
你也许在庆祝圣诞节,但生命中却没有那位主客。
91. You may be celebrating Christmas on the outside...
从外表看,你也许是在庆祝圣诞节,
92. yet, on the inside you are filled with turmoil and confusion.
但你的内心充满了混乱和疑惑。
93. You may be celebrating Christmas outwardly...
从外表看,你也许是在庆祝圣诞节,
94. but inwardly you are angry and despondent.
但内心却满是愤怒和失望。
95. Some may say:
有人也许会说:
96. “I will have a room for Jesus in my life... but not quite yet.”
“我将会让耶稣进入我的生命中,但现在还不是时候。”
97. You may never have another chance to make this decision again...
但你可能再也没有机会作出这个决定,
98. and you could spend eternity in torment and regret.
你可能永远落在痛苦和悔恨当中。
99. Why risk it?
为什么要冒这个险?

1. Some may say:
有人也许会说:
2. “I feel unworthy to be forgiven of my sins and healed of my guilt.”
“我觉得自己不配得到神对我的医治并赦免我的罪。”
3. Figuratively speaking:
打个比方说:
4. your life could not be less worthy than the stable where Jesus was born.
你的生命总不至于会比耶稣出生的马槽更卑贱吧?
5. Satan wants you to dwell on your past sins and past failures.
魔鬼撒但就是要你滞留在过去的罪和失败中。
6. But Jesus wants to forgive you and come into your life tonight... will you let Him?
但今天,耶稣要赦免你的罪,更要进入你的生命中,你愿意吗?
7. You must never forget that the baby born in Bethlehem...
你千万不要忘记那位生在伯利恒的婴孩,
8. died on a cross
祂后来死在十字架上,
9. to pay the penalty of sin for all those who will come to Him.
以祂的宝血救赎所有愿意来到祂跟前的人。
10. But then He rose from the dead.
但祂又从死里复活了。
11. And soon He will come back to judge every human being that has ever lived.
很快的,祂将要再回来审判所有在地上生存过的人。
12. And, the only way you can get to heaven is through faith in Jesus Christ.
只有借着相信耶稣基督,你才可以上天堂。
13. There is no other way.
并没有其他的方法。
14. He is inviting you.
祂正在邀请你。
15. Will you respond by inviting Him in your life?
你愿意请祂进入你的生命吗?
16. It is my prayer that you would say yes
我祈望你说愿意。
