8. In this Gospel reading, you’re going to find Jesus opening the eyes of the man who was born blind.
这段经文叙述,耶稣使生来就瞎了眼的人看得见。
9. Let’s read
请读约翰福音9:1-7。
10. As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth.
耶稣过去的时候,看见一个人生来是瞎眼的。
11. His disciples asked him, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?"
门徒问耶稣说:“拉比,这人生来是瞎眼的,是谁犯了罪,是这人呢?是他父母呢?”
12. "Neither this man nor his parents sinned," said Jesus, "but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life.
耶稣回答说:“也不是这人犯了罪,也不是他父母犯了罪,是要在他身上显出神的作为来。
13. as long as it is day, we must do the work of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work.
趁着白日,我们必须作那差我来者的工。黑夜将到,就没有人能作工了。
14. While I am in the world, I am the light of the world."

15. having said this, he spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man's eyes.
耶稣说了这话,就吐唾沫在地上,用唾沫和泥抹在瞎子的眼睛上。
16. "Go," he told him, "wash in the Pool of Siloam" (this word means Sent). So the man went and washed, and came home seeing. (John 9:1‑7 NIV)
对他说:“你往西罗亚池子里去洗。”(西罗亚翻出来就是奉差遣)他去一洗,回头就看见了。
17. My mother used to say that, "True blindness is blindness of the heart, not of the eyes."
我的母亲常说:“比起肉眼的失明,心眼的失明才是真正的瞎眼。”
18. We are told in the gospels, that Jesus healed blindness at least on 7 different occasions.
福音书记载,至少有七次,耶稣在不同的场合医好了瞎眼的人。
19. In fact, there are more miracles of giving sight to the blind recorded in the gospels... than healing of any other disease.
事实上福音书记载医好瞎眼的神迹,比医治其他疾病为多。
20. My listening friends, that fact is very significant.

21. Why?

22. There is no story of sight being given to a blind person recorded anywhere in the Old Testament.
旧约圣经并没有记载医治瞎眼的故事,
23. In the Old Testament the giving of sight to the blind is associated with God alone.
而在旧约时代里,只有神才可以让瞎眼的人看得见。
24. For example, in Exodus 4:11
比如在出埃及记4:11,
25. Let’s read it.

26. The LORD said to him, "Who gave man his mouth? Who makes him deaf or mute? Who gives him sight or makes him blind? Is it not I, the LORD? (Exod 4:11 NIV)
耶和华对他说:“谁造人的口呢?谁使人口哑、耳聋、目明、眼瞎呢?岂不是我耶和华么!”(出埃及记4:11)
27. The same thing is found in Psalm 146:8:
诗篇146:8有同样的记载:
28. the LORD gives sight to the blind, the LORD lifts up those who are bowed down, the LORD loves the righteous. (Ps 146:8 NIV)
耶和华开了瞎子的眼睛,耶和华扶起被压下的人,耶和华喜爱义人。
29. So in the Old Testament we read that the opening of the eyes of the blind will be the prerogative of the Messiah.
从旧约圣经当中,弥赛亚才有特权使瞎子开眼。
30. This is made clear in these following passages from Isaiah:
以赛亚书就说得很清楚了:
31. Isaiah 29:18
以赛亚书29:18,
32. in that day the deaf will hear the words of the scroll, and out of gloom and darkness the eyes of the blind will see. (Isa 29:18 NIV)
那时聋子必听见这书上的话,瞎子的眼,必从迷蒙黑暗中得以看见。
33. Then in Isaiah 35:5
又在以赛亚书35:5说:
34. Then will the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped. (Isa 35:5 NIV)
那时瞎子的眼必睁开,聋子的耳必开通。
35. Again in Isaiah 42:7
在以赛亚书42:7再一次说:
36. to open eyes that are blind, (Isa 42:7a NIV)
开瞎子的眼。
37. Returning to John Chapter 9, we read that Jesus was moved by the sight of the blind beggar.
回到约翰福音9章,耶稣看见那瞎眼的乞丐,就动了慈心。
38. The blind man was sitting by the temple gate.
那瞎子坐在圣殿门口。
39. He was apparently capitalizing on the pity of the departing worshipers.
很显然的,他希望这些去圣殿礼拜完毕的人,会可怜他,给他点好处。
40. Little did he know that the Light of the World was passing by him.
他却不知道,此刻那位世界之光的耶稣正走过他身边。
41. This man who was blind from birth is a representative of every one of us.
这生来就瞎眼的,正代表着我们每一个人。
42. We are all born spiritually blind.
我们的心灵,生来是瞎的。
43. No matter how youthful, how beautiful or how intellectual we may be,...
不论我们是多么青春,美丽,聪明,
44. We were born spiritually blind.
我们出生时,心眼就瞎了。
45. The disciples were interested in the cause of blindness.
门徒只想知道这个人眼瞎的原因,
46. But Jesus was interested in restoring his sight.
而耶稣则一心一意要使他复明。
47. When we come to Jesus... we come condemned.
当我们来到耶稣面前时,我们都被定了罪。
48. Our sins condemn us.
我们的罪恶定了我们的罪。
49. Our hearts condemn us.
我们的内心定了我们的罪。
50. Our neighbors and our friends condemn us.
邻舍和朋友定了我们的罪。
51. Satan condemns us.
魔鬼撒但定了我们的罪。
52. But, Jesus sets us free!
但是,耶稣使我们自由。
53. Satan and the flesh are concerned to heap guilt and condemnation upon us.
魔鬼撒但与肉体所关心的是,把罪行堆在我们身上,
54. But only Jesus is anxious to free us.
唯有耶稣存心要使我们自由。
55. Satan and the flesh are geared to tell us how deeply we have sinned.
撒但和肉体一致控诉我们的罪有多深重,
56. But Jesus only concern is whether or not our repentance is genuine.
但耶稣只关心我们的悔改是否真诚。
57. Satan and the flesh always want to remind us that we have committed sins that are unforgettable and unforgivable.
撒但与肉体常常提醒我们所犯的罪是忘不了,和不可饶恕的,
58. But Jesus said, "My blood will cleanse you from all unrighteousness."
但耶稣说:“我的血可洗净你一切的不义。”
59. The disciples were speaking regarding their relationship between people’s sickness and their sins.
门徒谈论着,疾病和人所犯的罪的关系,
60. But Jesus was interested in glorifying the father.
但耶稣所关心的是要荣耀天父。
61. The disciples were philosophizing as to the nature of the man's blindness.
门徒用哲理推究,为何那人生来就瞎眼,
62. But Jesus compassion is in restoring his sight.
但耶稣怜悯他,要恢复他的视力。
63. Let’s turn now to look at the reaction of neighbors.
现在请看看周围邻舍的反应。
64. It is in John 9:8-12.
在约翰福音9:8-12,
65. Let’s read these verses together.
让我们一起读:
66. His neighbors and those who had formerly seen him begging asked, "Isn't this the same man who used to sit and beg?"
他的邻舍、和那素常见他是讨饭的,就说:“这不是那从前坐着讨饭的人么?”
67. some claimed that he was. Others said, "No, he only looks like him." But he himself insisted, "I am the man."
有人说:“是他。”又有人说:“不是,却是像他。”他自己说:“是我。”
68. "How then were your eyes opened?" they demanded.
他们对他说:“你的眼睛是怎么开的呢?”
69. He replied, "The man they call Jesus made some mud and put it on my eyes. He told me to go to Siloam and wash. So I went and washed, and then I could see."
他回答说:“有一个人名叫耶稣,他和泥抹我的眼睛,对我说,你往西罗亚池子去洗,我去一洗,就看见了。”
70. "Where is this man?" they asked him. "I don't know," he said. (John 9:8‑12 NIV)

71. The neighbors did not know how to take the change in this man's life.
那些邻居并不知道这人的生命如何改变的;
72. The neighbors did not know what to make of this miraculous act.
那些邻居并不知道这个神迹怎么发生的;
73. The neighbors did not know whether the blind man (whom they knew as a beggar by the street side) was the same one as the seeing man.
那些邻居并不知道眼前这个开眼的人,是否就是他们认识那个以前在路旁行乞的瞎子。
74. But that man insisted, "I am the same one!"
但那人坚持说:“那就是我。”
75. Why do you think the neighbors full of doubt?
你想邻居的心里为什么充满疑惑?
76. Because they’ve never heard of such a thing.
因为,他们从来没听说过这种事。
77. So, they decided to take the man to the Pharisees.
所以,他们决定带这个人去见法利赛人。
78. Let’s hear the reaction of the Pharisees from John 9:13-34.
请听法利赛人有何反应:约翰福音9:13-34。
79. They brought to the Pharisees the man who had been blind.
他们把从前瞎眼的人,带到法利赛人那里。
80. now the day on which Jesus had made the mud and opened the man's eyes was a Sabbath.
耶稣和泥开他眼睛的日子是安息日。
81. Therefore, the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. "He put mud on my eyes," the man replied, "and I washed, and now I see."
法利赛人也问他,是怎么得看见的?瞎子对他们说:“他把泥抹在我的眼睛上,我去一洗,就看见了。”
82. some of the Pharisees said, "This man is not from God, for he does not keep the Sabbath." But others asked, "How can a sinner do such miraculous signs?" So they were divided.
法利赛人中有的说:“这个人不是从神来的,因为他不守安息日。”又有人说:“一个罪人怎能行这样的神迹呢?”他们就起了纷争。
83. Finally, they turned again to the blind man, "What have you to say about him? It was your eyes he opened." The man replied, "He is a prophet."
他们又对瞎子说:“他既然开了你的眼睛,你说他是个怎样的人呢?”他说:“是个先知。”
84. The Jews still did not believe that he had been blind and had received his sight until they sent for the man's parents.
犹太人不信他从前是瞎眼,后来能看见的,等到叫了他的父母来,
85. "Is this your son?" they asked. "Is this the one you say was born blind? How is it that now he can see?"
问他们说:“这是你们的儿子么?你们说他生来是瞎眼的,如今怎么能看见了呢?”
86. "We know he is our son," the parents answered, "and we know he was born blind.
他父母回答说:“他是我们的儿子,生来就瞎眼,这是我们知道的。
87. but how he can see now, or who opened his eyes, we don't know. Ask him. He is of age; he will speak for himself."
至于他如今怎么能看见,我们却不知道。是谁开了他的眼睛,我们也不知道。他已经成了人,你们问他罢!他自己必能说。”
88. His parents said this because they were afraid of the Jews, for already the Jews had decided that anyone who acknowledged that Jesus was the Christ would be put out of the synagogue.
他父母说这话,是怕犹太人,因为犹太人已经商议定了,若有人认耶稣是基督的,要把他赶出会堂。
89. That was why his parents said, "He is of age; ask him."
因此他父母说,他已经成了人,你们问他罢!
90. A second time they summoned the man who had been blind. "Give glory to God," they said. "We know this man is a sinner."
所以法利赛人第二次叫了那从前瞎眼的人来,对他说:“你该将荣耀归给神,我们知道这人是个罪人。”
91. He replied, "Whether he is a sinner or not, I don't know. One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see!"
他说:“他是个罪人不是,我不知道.有一件事我知道,从前我是眼瞎的,如今能看见了。”
92. then they asked him, "What did he do to you? How did he open your eyes?"
他们就问他说:“他向你作什么?是怎么开了你的眼睛呢?”
93. He answered, "I have told you already and you did not listen. Why do you want to hear it again? Do you want to become his disciples, too?"
他回答说:“我方纔告诉你们,你们不听,为什么又要听呢?莫非你们也要作他的门徒么?”
94. Then they hurled insults at him and said, "You are this fellow's disciple! We are disciples of Moses!
他们就骂他说:“你是他的门徒,我们是摩西的门徒。
95. we know that God spoke to Moses, but as for this fellow, we don't even know where he comes from."
神对摩西说话,是我们知道的。只是这个人,我们不知道他从那里来。”
96. the man answered, "Now that is remarkable! You don't know where he comes from, yet he opened my eyes.
那人回答说:“他开了我的眼睛,你们竟不知道他从那里来,这真是奇怪。
97. we know that God does not listen to sinners. He listens to the godly man who does his will.
我们知道神不听罪人,惟有敬奉神遵行祂旨意的,神纔听他。
98. Nobody has ever heard of opening the eyes of a man born blind.
从创世以来,未曾听见有人把生来是瞎子的眼睛开了。
99. If this man were not from God, he could do nothing."
这人若不是从神来的,什么也不能作。”
SECTION B
乙部
1. To this they replied, "You were steeped in sin at birth; how dare you lecture us!" And they threw him out. (John 9:13‑34 NIV)
他们回答说:“你全然生在罪孽中,还要教训我们么?”于是把他赶出去了。(约翰福音9:13-34)
2. The reason why the neighbors were taking the man who was healed miraculously to the Pharisees is because they were looking for trouble.
那些邻居带着被神迹医好的瞎子,来见法利赛人是想找麻烦。
3. The Pharisees always concentrated on the minor points in the law and ignored the greater truth.
法利赛人常常执着律法的细节,而忽略更重要的真理,
4. So they first put the man and his family through intense interrogation.
所以他们先严格的质问那个人和他的家人。
5. Finally, the Pharisees realized that they could not refute the evidence.
最后法利赛人明了那些证据是驳不倒的,
6. So they said that Jesus performed a miracle on the Sabbath!
他们就指责耶稣在安息日行神迹。
7. Forget about the man's sight being restored.
却忽略了那人重见光明,
8. Forget about the man's life being changed.
却忽略了那人生命的改变,
9. Forget about the man who was as good as dead, now full of life and vigor.
却忽略了那人从前和死人一样,而现在充满了生命和活力。
10. Forget all that!
这一切全给忽略了。
11. What mattered is their little, precious man-made rule.
他们只重视那些细微,而由人定出来的律例。
12. These Pharisees of old are not unlike some of religious people today.
古时候的法利赛人,和今天某些宗教人士半斤八两。
13. They insist on obeying the minutest details of the ceremonies.
他们坚持遵守礼仪的每一个琐碎细节,
14. But they live their lives far from pleasing God.
但却不愿意过讨神喜悦的生活,
15. These people have spiritual blindness.
这些人就是心灵的眼瞎了。
16. Let’s read again from John 9:35
请再读约翰福音9:35。
17. Jesus heard that they had thrown him out, and when he found him, he said, "Do you believe in the Son of Man?"
耶稣听说他们把他赶出去,后来遇见他,就说:“你信神的儿子么?”
18. "Who is he, sir?" the man asked. "Tell me so that I may believe in him."
他回答说:“主啊,谁是神的儿子,叫我信他呢?”
19. Jesus said, "You have now seen him; in fact, he is the one speaking with you."
耶稣说:“你已经看见他,现在和你说话的就是他。”
20. Then the man said, "Lord, I believe," and he worshiped him.
他说:“主啊,我信。”就拜耶稣。
21. Jesus said, "For judgment I have come into this world, so that the blind will see and those who see will become blind."
耶稣说:“我为审判到这世上来,叫不能看见的,可以看见.能看见的,反瞎了眼。”
22. Some Pharisees who were with him heard him say this and asked, "What? Are we blind too?"
同他在那里的法利赛人听见这话,就说:“难道我们也瞎了眼么?”
23. Jesus said, "If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin; but now that you claim you can see, your guilt remains. (John 9:35‑41 NIV)
耶稣对他们说:“你们若瞎了眼,就没有罪了。但如今你们说,我们能看见,所以你们的罪还在。”(约翰福音9:35-41)
24. Physical blindness in the Bible is a type of spiritual blindness.
在圣经里肉眼瞎也是心眼瞎的一种。
25. And that is why I want you to tune in next time, when I will tell you the important relationship between physical blindness and spiritual blindness.

26. Because I want to tell you how spiritual blindness can be healed.
